Trauma Solutions Presents
Estranged Relationships: An Attachment-Informed Approach to Loss, Separation, and Repair
5-Session LIVE Series begins Oct 6th
featuring
Dr Diane Poole Heller
Family estrangement is far more common than many people realize.
It may not even be the reason a client initially seeks support. Sometimes it emerges later: a sibling they haven’t spoken to in years, an adult child who has cut off contact, a parent they no longer see, or grandchildren who have disappeared from their life.
And although these experiences show up frequently in our work, there is surprisingly little professional training devoted specifically to understanding estrangement and its aftermath.
That’s one reason we want to share a new live training from Dr. Diane Poole Heller:
Estranged Relationships: An Attachment-Informed Approach to Loss, Separation, and Repair
Across five live classes, Diane will explore what estrangement can activate beneath the surface—from grief, rejection, shame, and identity wounds to the attachment patterns that influence pursuit, withdrawal, boundaries, and attempts at repair.
You’ll explore:
How attachment adaptations shape responses to rupture and separation
How to work with boundaries when someone has chosen distance—or has been left
Ways to support healing even when contact remains limited or impossible
What makes repair and reconciliation more possible
How to move forward when reconciliation is not available
The course will include debriefs of clinical demonstrations, working through some of these relational experiences. You’ll also practice experiential exercises, and have Q&A with Diane
The five-part live series begins October 6.
