For decades, researchers and practitioners worldwide have been steadily building evidence to demonstrate the efficacy of Somatic Experiencing®. As the body of knowledge has expanded, so too has the awareness of SE as a leading best practice for healing trauma and increasing resiliency. In the near future, it may be possible for SE to achieve evidence-based status; the momentum is palpable.

Research has been and continues to be a strategic priority for SE International. Beyond establishing it as a recognized name in trauma resilience, resolution, and healing, it can open new doors to practitioners and impact more lives worldwide. Each year, we award two Peter A. Levine Research Awards to researchers whose work builds the evidence through research excellence in the Somatic Experiencing model.
