Dr. Ruth Lanius—an internationally recognized clinician-scientist in the neurobiology of trauma—and Dr. Peter A. Levine, developer of Somatic Experiencing®, combine their complementary expertise to present a cohesive integrative framework for how trauma can be safely resolved and mind–body unity restored.
This 3-day workshop blends neuroscience, naturalistic observation, and somatic healing. Meet the Presenters
Peter A. Levine, Ph.D.
Peter A. Levine, Ph.D., is a best-selling author and the developer of Somatic Experiencing®, a naturalistic and neurobiological approach to healing trauma, which he has developed over the past 50 years. He holds a doctorate in Biophysics from UC Berkeley and a doctorate in Psychology from International University. He is the Founder and President of the Ergos Institute of Somatic Education and the Founder and Advisor for Somatic Experiencing International, where his work has been taught to over 30,000 healers in over 42 countries.
Ruth Lanius, M.D., Ph.D.
Ruth Lanius, M.D., Ph.D., is a Clinician-Scientist, Psychiatry Professor, and Harris-Woodman Chair in Mind-Body Medicine at Western University of Canada, where she is the Director of the Clinical Research Program for PTSD. Ruth has over 25 years of clinical and research experience with trauma-related disorders. She has published five books and over 250 research articles and book chapters. She regularly lectures and teaches internationally about psychological trauma. Ruth is passionate about understanding the first-person experience of traumatized individuals throughout treatment and how it relates to brain functioning. She is regarded as a leading specialist in the mind-body effects of trauma and neuroscience-based approaches to trauma treatment.
